The Artists:
With his trailblazing, instantly memorable songs and gritty, unvarnished vocals, Aaron Parnell Brown is among the most extraordinary artists in Soul, Americana, and Jazz. Since the 2012 release of his self-released debut, “Sing,” Brown’s meteoric rise from playing small clubs in Northeastern Pennsylvania to playing live on the iconic NPR roots music show Mountain Stage is nothing short of phenomenal. With accolades like winning an Independent Music Award and Soul/R&B Artist Of The Year (Tri State Indie Music Awards) he continues to set the music world on fire.
Sug Daniels is a Delaware born singer-songwriter and producer based out of Philadelphia who is using the tools around her to capture the emotions of an era. Daniels’ work is as colorful, vulnerable, and charismatic as her personality. She thoughtfully combines elements of folk, R&B, and soul alternatives to create personal and tender music interlaced with messages of truth and positive change.
Phyllis Chapell has spent her life developing a universal musical style, singing World Songs: a unique mix of originals, jazz, folk, pop and international music. The talented vocalist/guitarist has performed in concert throughout the US, Brazil, Latin America, and Europe, and has recorded multiple albums and videos. She has been named one of the top 500 jazz vocalists of all time. She has also won song competitions for her original music and was chosen as one of Indie-Music’s Top 25.
Avi Wisnia is an award-winning singer/songwriter, finding inspiration in 1950’s west-coast jazz, acoustic American folk, Brazilian bossa nova, and contemporary piano pop. Avi‘s clever lyrics give a knowing nod to his contemporaries, while his smooth vocals and deft piano skills assure you that this is truly something new. He tours in support of his newest studio album, “Catching Leaves,” performing in prestigious venues around the world – from the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC to The Kennedy Center in DC to concert tours in Japan, Poland, and Brazil. His single “Sky Blue Sky” was recorded via satellite between Philadelphia and Brazil, winning recognition from the Philadelphia Songwriters Project and Mid-Atlantic Song Contest. In addition to being a performing songwriter, he has given a TED Talk and performed with The Moth storytellers and organizes the Philly Songwriters Circle. “Avi Wisnia represents the best of the singer-songwriter genre: great voice, great songs, exciting stage presence. He plays piano like he was born to it.” – The Minstrel Folk Project
