John and June Gallagher began making music together within weeks of their first meeting. In the more than 45 years that have followed, the two have crafted an entertaining and heartfelt repertoire of songs, performed in spots up and down the East coast, and raised 3 children (all became fest kids!) As the founders of Folk Survivors, John and June are staples of the Delaware folk music community, producing concerts with some of their musical heroes, including Tom Paxton, Mike Cross, and David Mallett. Anyone who has heard them play, whether at their shows around Wilmington or up at their corner site in heavy camping, can attest to the joy that comes from John’s rolling fingerpicking guitar style and June’s tight, stirring harmonies. Their love for the music and for each other shines through in each crowd-pleasing performance.
