Gangstagrass, a groundbreaking fusion of American Bluegrass and Hip-Hop, is set to grace the Festival stage once again after their electrifying performance at the digital PFF in 2020. Hailed by The New York Times as “The Music America Needs,” Gangstagrass brings a unique blend of genres that captivates audiences across the nation. As part of the Festival’s presentation of educational workshops, Gangstagrass will be leading a workshop spotlighting the Jim Crow-era origins of American music genres.
John Oates is cofounder of the iconic music creators Hall & Oates, as well as an accomplished solo artist. He is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The American Songwriters Hall of Fame, recipient of the prestigious BMI Icon Award as well as numerous American Music, MTV awards, and multiple Grammy nominations. Since embarking on a solo career in 1999, John has recorded seven solo albums. In addition, his 2017 autobiography “Change of Season” became an Amazon bestseller.
