Rock n Roll's Rebel Priest, John Francis O'Mara, is an Irish-American singer-songwriter, internationally renowned for his poetic, spiritual, and social commentary songs, and fiery and moving live shows. He has received two national songwriting awards from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). Touring extensively in the US, Canada, Ireland, UK, and Europe, JF's much-anticipated new album release - Forbidden Hymns - produced by Ken Coomer (Wilco, Uncle Tupelo), and featuring Kenny Vaughan (Marty Stuart, Lucinda Williams), Dave Roe (Johnny Cash, John Mellencamp), is garnering widespread acclaim. JF has played with Sinead O'Connor, Mavis Staples, Loretta Lynn, Kris Kristofferson, Suzanne Vega, Steve Earle. Mary Gauthier, Ray Lamontagne, Amos Lee, and many others. JF is also an ordained Episcopalian priest, theologian, and activist. He received Master's degrees from Princeton and General seminaries, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Theology with a Social Justice focus from Howard University School of Divinity. His focus of study and practice is in Liberation Theologies.
