Volunteering FAQs:

There are so many amazing committees to choose from we understand how it would be hard to pick just one! If you have any specialized knowledge or experience in an area (any medical experience, video/sound, production, media) please email volunteering@folkfest.org and we can connect you to the right people! If you are just looking to join the fun, we highly recommend joining security, camping, parking or recycling, especially for first-time volunteers. These committees get to see all of the festival grounds and interact with the most festival attendees! It’s a great way to learn how the festival operates. You can read more about some of the different committees here.

It really depends on what committee you are on! Some committees are able to provide child-friendly shifts. Reach out to your chairperson and let them know what you need; either they will be able to accommodate you or will be able to point you in the direction of another committee that can!

It depends on which shows you are trying to see! Some shifts are close to the stages and you will be able to work your shift as well as enjoy the show- some may not. In the event that you have a shift during a show that is very important to you, please reach out to your chairperson to see if a switch or accommodation can be made for you.

Please look out for emails from Jayne Toohey. More information should be made available sometime in May.

PFS no longer has a direct number, if you are looking to get in touch with someone from the Folksong Society please reach out to directors@pfs.org.

If you need more information, please email the volunteer committee chairs, at volunteering@folkfest.org.
